A law I cannot break

A couple of months ago, I started growing tomatoes in a ghetto greenhouse. They did fantastic, growing at rates that rivaled the garden in summer, albeit with longer internodal lengths. Got blooms and eventually the blooms turned into fruit.

But one law regarding successfully growing plants is the DLI - Daily Light Integral. In its simplest form, it says plants need a certain number of photons of useful light per day, though one can apply it to a weekly period. It is ironclad.

The foliage grows quickly, the fruit takes weeks to grow enough to really notice. Sadly, there is nothing I can do to alleviate or ameliorate it. Except wait for more days of sun, which will likely be two weeks or more away.

But, I have Plan B!

Merry Christmas,

Mike
