I realize that Alstroemerias are distinct from lilies but as there is no specific forum I thought I'd take advantage of the common misconception...

I know Alstroemerias are fairly hardy and can certainly be grown in Zones 7 or 8, my question is how "warm hardy" are they? I have heard that if the soil temperature rises above 72F they will not flower. Is there anyone in the far south or Hawaii who grows these successfully?
