What kind of spider lily? There are about half a dozen species with that common name--none of them true lilies (Lilium species).

i believe that they are Red Spider Lily/ Surprise Lily. here are some pictures that they looked like

i had lived here for 3 years and have never seen them. the plant was always there, but never the flower. (so beautiful btw)

Yep, that's red spider lily (Lycoris radiata). I had a batch that took 5 years to bloom, but that was because I planted them too deep. If that's the problem, the only cure is time. Otherwise, make sure that they're getting at least 6 hours of sun a day while they have leaves, and are getting fed regularly at the same time.

No way!

But some kinds of Hymenocallis will work in a bog. Bog spider lily (H. liriosme) is one native to Texas.
