Hi all!

My 'Crimson Sentry' has not come back this year. It's a mature 20' tall, and has always done well.

This year, though, the bark has just fallen off. It's coming off in big chunks, leaving very smooth, white wood underneath. I mention smooth, because it's not rough like it was torn off or anything.

I'm concerned, because my 'Red Sunset' is showing the same thing. One difference: the wood peckers are going after this tree. :(

Any ideas?
