not sure how your weather's been, we've been pretty hot already. my JM's are getting some leaf scorch from the hot sun and warm weather.

We had a spell of about 2 weeks in March that temps reached in the mid to high 70s (quite unusual for Ohio), then came back to reality. Have had two good frost since then. So I suppose it could be frost damage. Never seen this sort of damage on the JM (I like the abbreviation!) before, so that's why I was a little worried.

I agree tree looks OK considering the wide swings in temps you have experienced recently. I think you are just witnessing the results of some cold weather after the tree leafed out.....not a big deal. Any loss of foliage will be regenerated.

PS. JM's in my area are only just beginning to leaf out - who'd a thought Ohio would be that far ahead of a balmy zone 8?!! :-)
