Hi, I have the same question, it's everywhere around here too. I actually thought it was a flowering pear. My neighbor has many of these in her yard and I'm wondering if it's odd that some have a single trunk like a tree and others have multiple trunks like a shrub. Any thoughts? I was thinking I might take a clipping to a local nursery and see what they think. I'll let you know if I end up doing that.

I had actually looked at the american plum, but had discounted it because none of the photos depicted the same red center. I've marked the trees with ribbon so I can check them out later in the season. Must be something the birds like, since I've never actually seen the fruit on these.
