Sorry, but in Georgia where in a severe drought and rationing water. I guess too much can be as bad as too little.

I believe in watering potted plants when necessary and not on ridgid schedule no matter what. Advise you water again when the top 2 inches or so are dry.

I agree thats how I do mine...once you see how fast they dry you will have it down and know the "pattern" ..just stick your finger in there every few days down a couple inches and check..always remember jm's don't like too much water and tend to tolerate too little than too much..but not NO water ;>) David

Basically Jm's ideally like to dry a bit between waterings they don't like constantly wet roots ..David

Okay!!! Thanks for all the great advise!!!! I have been lightly watering everyday this week because we got into the 90's. I didnt want them to dry out.. but I will wait a few days before checking again.

These trees grow like weeds in the Pacific Northwest, where it rains, rains, rains. The big difference is that they sit in fast draining volcanic soil, and the water that they get is Rain, which doesn't have all the hard water salts that tap/well water has. They should be fine if all that rain water can run right through them and out the pots.
