Shishigashira Location

Hello,

Due to an unforseen new dry well system, I now have some new space for additional garden beds and a patio. I want to plant a Shishigashira Japanese Maple near the patio and have 3 different locations to put it. It will be in back of a garage, so it will be sheltered from the wind. However, the 3 spots get different amounts of sun throughout the day. My questions is what is the minimum amount of sun per day that the Maple will require and still thrive. The sunniest spot gets around 7 or 8 hours and the shadiest gets around 4 or 5 due to some large pine trees. The third spot is somewhere in the middle. The shadiest spot is the best aesthetically, but obviously I want the tree to be in the spot best for it.

Thanks for your advice.
