Early Strawberries

We grow a few acres of June bearing strawberries for market. The warm weather has started the plants growing two to three weeks earlier than usual. I understand that day length affects flowering. So my question is whether to expect strawberries 2 or 3 weeks early, or is that determined by length of day?

you should expect strawberries to be ripe earlier. do you have a way to prevent frost damage if the normal weather were to return?

I hope we have a _working_ frost protection system. We have a sprinkler system, and are working on getting the engine that runs it working.

Our weatherman is forecasting a light frost in about a week, zone 5b, Lafayette, IN. Luckily not a hard freeze. I usually count about 3 weeks from bloom no matter what day of the year it is.
