It would be ok...but there are better options. 'Fjellheim' is a dwarf form of 'sango kaku' with the same bark coloration and leaf coloration (although in some cases brighter leaf coloration). 'Winter flame' is another dwarf with similar characteristics that would also be more suitable than the 'sango kaku'. However, if you want it to get above about 10 ft you will need to go with the 'sango kaku', because the others will stay more or less smaller than that.

I thought so Matt. I just ordered a Shaina. Its about 18 inches tall already. I dont know what size pot its going to come in, but can you tell me how tall it will get, maximum?

If kept potted up, it might never reach 5 foot high and wide. In the ground it should get that size in about 20 years. Size is of course a rough estimate, but 'shaina' usually forms a small shrub only growing about 3 inches per year.

I just purchased a Sango that is 12 inches high. What size pot do I put it in. Also, I have a pixie that is about 5 inches high... currently I have it in a small pot, about 12 inch...should I move it to a bigger pot now or leave it until when?
