I've had that happen to me, not the business name, but the situation. Most people have no idea how many heirloom tomatoes are out there. One day, I counted just what Tomato Growers had listed (at that time) in their catalog, it was over 90 before I gave up.

Glad you sold as many as you did, gives me hope for my first market on 4/21. Did you only take 6 pks, or maybe other sizes too?

My boss, who is bad at English, also calls them heritage. I know it is synonymous but I prefer to use the correct word. I have a list of the words she says wrong like plants that are evasive (they take over), fancy breads are artesian and the thing at the end of the sentence is an explanation point! LOL.

Seed Savers Exchange contains thousands of tomatoes. I think 7 or 8 thousand but I don't have my catalog on hand. Not all are heirlooms in that some are new open pollinated varieties which some people still call heirlooms.

I remember when I started out, the US's standards for heirloom is much shorter time than England. US is only 50 years, while England's is 100 years. I like to be able to tell my customers what year certain varieties are from.

Tom Wagner, who started with the Green Zebra at age 10, thinks it is odd that he is alive and well and his tomato is an heirloom. He is in his 60s I believe.
