I have been growing this tree for 7 years now and have had no reversion problem.

Has your yard become shadier? If it is growing in more shade, the leaves will be more green/gold and less reddish. It is not uncommon for yards to become much shadier with time, particularly if you own a fairly new house. When I moved into my new house 8 years ago, the yard was very sunny and most of my hostas burned up but my daylilies flowered great. Now my hostas are thriving and daylilies flower less each year.

Are the green leaves growing from the lower portion of the tree... perhaps the rootstock is sending out some shoots.

It is on the north side of the house, but when we purchased this tree we were told it needed shade, and the first year it was in a much sunnier spot.

And to answer Dave, no the green leaves are at the top. So...am it to believe it should be moved to a sunnier, or semi-sunny spot. Right now it only gets morning sun.
