There are literally hundreds of different types of milkweed. Do you know what variety you have? I can't imagine that misting the leaves would cause any problems, but it isn't necessary for any reason that I can think of. Where is your plant growing and how old is it? Did you purchase it or find it growing somewhere? Yellow leaves could be a sign of overwatering, but could be a sign of nutrient deficiencies or inadequate sunshine or other illnesses. It's the Tropical Milkweed I'm talking about. Okay. Some are in the ground/soil (outside) some are in pots. Some of the Tropical Milkweed are older, some are newer. The 1 with yellow leaves I got on June 3rd. They are store-bought plants! Thank you so much for hoping to hear back from me!!

I would make sure your plant is in the ground somewhere that it gets good drainage and has plenty of sun. I would let the soil around it's roots start to get slightly dry before watering it. Then give it a deep soak and leave it for several more days, or until nearly dry again. See how it looks in a few weeks. Check back here if you have questions.
