As I was writting down the three trades that I have pre-arranged I was thinking about just how to identify the people I am trading with to make sure I do the trade before the main event. Which led me to a suggestion.

Last spring was my first swap, I am not good with names and was wishing people had name tags with both their name and screen name. Would it be alright if I brought along some computer labels for people to write their names on? It would be fun to be able to put faces to the names I see here.

Why sure- I am sure there will be others who would appreciate name tags as well- and for those who do not- well- I won't give them a hard time- to start with anyways ;)
I think we could bring/have ready what ever we think would make the get together more enjoyable!
It looks like a pretty good turn out so far- I am pretty sure Cheri will be there as well- There is plenty of room for more though-

I figure without a name tag I can call them "hey you" and get away with it :) Or do what my daugher does and call everyone sweety, that way she doesn't need to remember names.

Awww heck, We have our annual festival that wknd and I'm still heavily involved though trying to cut back after 20+ years (other things like this swap I'd rather be doing). I've gotten the brugmansia bug the past few years and will have cuttings later this fall (will post)for anyone crazy enough to risk addiction....LOL.
Hey Lone, has the Ecuador Pink bloomed yet. My parent plant just finished is first big flush...great smell; and of the orchids you gave me one den is blooming now, 2 phals are spiking and lots of new growth. They must have liked this summer.
Maybe I'll make it to the next swap. Have fun all.

I am so mad, not only did I spend part of yesterday at Fairview Southdale Hospital. I am on crutches and can't do any gardening for awhile. Which also means no swap this weekend.

I was walking down the wet wooden steps to the lake at our cabin and I slipped. My knee twisted under me and I fell with my whole weight on it. Nothing is broken, but I am on crutches for a few days and then with an ace bandage for one, two weeks or longer. It is a sprain. Of course it is the knee that I wrecked skiing and have had surgery on several times so it will be slow to heel.

To top it all off I had talked John into spending the whole day in the garden with me yesterday. Doing things like getting plants potted for the swap.

So no swap until spring for me. I am so disappointed.

Something has come up and it looks like I won't be able to make it to the swap either. I am so bummed. It's probably for the best, since I have too much that still needs to be planted.

I hope everyone has a great time and I hope to make it to a future swap, next season, if another swap is organized.

I have recieved info twice now that my return responces were not recieved- I responded by replying in my inbox- which only works for those who do not have their e-mail address restricted at GW. Who- knew!? Ya- I know- it says it might not work..... but it didn't tell me it didn't go through- so I though it worked!

Ok- This is what happened- as far as I know- When I posted this announcement- I checked the box to have all replys/posts sent to my e-mail. As I read each one- I wrote a usually long winded- warm and inviting reply by choosing reply from my e-mail. There is a warning as a header to some posts that the message may not get through- I, as usual, didn't heed the warning and thought that since I never recieved a message that the reply did not make it to it's intended destination- all was well. Ignorance is bliss- right?
Well- as it turns out- the replys did not make it- Just as GardenWeb set it up to protect your privacy- as you (and I) requested when we signed up. I don't believe being a paid member or not- has anthing to do woth it. The way I responded by replying to a message- instead of going back to the post- and going to each person's page and then choosing to send an e-mail from there is where the problem lies. I have tried to reach all to at least give an address and a phone number-
Please all- accept my sincere appology for not understanding the problem and fixing it sooner!
Know that you and your friends are all welcome - plants or not (we all started somewhere, and what a great place GW is to start out!)- food or not (really now- this is MN and we all bring too much to a pot luck, or so it seems)- both knees working or not ;-)......
