Solar Power?

Hi there!

Does anyone have any experience with solar power, such as electricty running a greenhouse?

We're considering solar electricty for the house, but have a ton of questions. My evil plan is if we can get it installed in our Electric House, I can stretch it a bit and get Rich to build me a greenhouse. [G]

Give a call over to the University of MD. Students built a solar house this summer for an exposition on the Mall. It was pretty cool. I'm sure they did all kinds of research and could give you lots of info.

The U of MD is certainly worth checking. Our passive solar house with hot water solar was built over 25 years ago & a rooftop photovoltaic system was just connected this past week. In case you haven't done so already, make sure you check for Federal & State tax advantages and state/DC grant possibilities. Also, if you haven't been before and aren't in a hurry, there is a DC metropolitan area annual solar house tour the first weekend of October. I may be able to answer some specific questions.
