I'm thinking of ordering a packet of Imperial Star artichoke seed from Territorial Seed. They are advertised as being as close to an annual artichoke as is available. I probably wouldn't be able to start the seeds until mid-March or early April, and was wondering if they'd still produce anything before frost kills them off.

Also, has anyone experimented with overwintering artichoke roots indoors over winter, possibly in a cool garage in pots?
