Are you planning to trim a willow?

Hi,

Is this winter brutal or what!!! This spring I would like to build a living fence so I need fresh willow branches. If anyone is planning to have your weeping willow trimmed can you let me know -- I would love to take some branches off your hands. If you are in the Twin Cities perhaps we can connect via e-mail as to time and place.

Weeping willows get rather large. Is this going to fit your "fence" concept? Although I don't know of any smaller weeping types of willows, there are many non-weepers that will grow 15-30ft rather than the 50ft that a weeping willow would.

Check out the sloughs around the railroad tracks, and up north for river willows- they grow very fast- and stay a "moderate" height and later, you can trim them back and learn how to make furniture!!
It's a win win sit-uation!!
