Shade Shrubs for Foundation with no watering?

Hello, I've been googleing all night looking for shade shrubs for my house and I would like suggestions. I would like to plant some shrubs next to my foundation that will tolerate shade AND no watering (besides the rain). The reason I am looking to plant there is to avoid water seeping into the foundation (has not happened, just preventing). This side of the house does not get sun, just ambient light and it is in well draining *clay*. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can plant there? The only thing I have found that matches are hostas.

Once established, your foundation shrubs shouldn't need extra watering unless we're in severe drought. So pick out a shade shrub that you like (cherry laurel, azaleas, boxwoods are some), and plan to water the first summer. Any new shrub will need to be watered until it's had time to extend roots down deep. Then they become self sufficient.

As for your cellar, just make sure that soil is banked to drain water *away* from the foundation and your cellar should stay dry.
