I grew a maple sapling that was about 1cm tall from my neibor's yard. I grew it in a cup of water till it was about 6 inchs. I transplanted it in some nice miracle grow soil and all the leaves began to dry up and wilt and die!

I don't know what to do, or if my sapling is now dead. All the leaves have dried up. Will it produce new growth or just die?
