Hi,
We've got what I think is a sugar maple which has some issues (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). All the new growth leaves have turned red and fallen off and the older growth leaves are curling. They've been that way the whole season. We've had a wet season so it shouldn't be dried out. I wonder if the mulch ring around the tree could be an issue or the exposed roots?

I'd appreciate any help you may be able to offer
