Leitner's in St. Paul is where we bought all of ours -- I believe the good garden stuff is called "one-one-one." We've been very happy with it plain but have also added extra compost to it whenever we plant something. I wasn't crazy about their "compost," however -- it looks like what's left over from when they sieve compost to put it into the "one-one-one." You probably know this already, but it's incredible how much new soil settles down after a year or so -- we wish we'd piled it up above the level where we wanted it to be even more than we did!

Do you remember what it cost you at Leitners? Can you please give me an idea of the costs for getting garden soil delivered? Is this cheaper than getting bags of "topsoil" and compost at Menards?

It would be good to call them because once we got a few cubic yards delivered and once we took our own trailer and picked it up ( they dump it in for you with a Bobcat) -- and the only price that comes to mind from one of those or the other is $40 a cubic yard. I wish I had a better memory!
