Thanks for replying - I did actually find a bunch on Local Harvest. I was just looking for specific recommendations (I'm not sure who to choose), and that's a lot of money to sink into something without having a referral.

I was just wondering if anyone had luck with any specific farm?

I do not know of any- but I do know not every one delivers everywhere- that fact may limit your choices some....

Big question is Where Do You Reside? The CSA I'm part of is looking to add a couple more households and they deliver in the area between Msp/St Paul and their location in Osceola WI. Check out info on "Foxtail Farm" - They are one of the very few around that DOES deliver.

We have just joined Harmony Valley Farm so I havne't gotten anything from them yet. They do have several pick up spots in the Twin Cities.

We used Harmony Valley Farm last summer, and liked it enough to sign up again this year. When I had questions, they were very accomodating and helpful, and I especially liked the newsletters that came every week. The sheer volume of vegetables was a bit overwhelming, but the whole point was to get me to eat more green things, so that worked out all right.

They have a variety of pick-up sites in the Twin Cities. I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with the processes outside of the metro area, but some digging on their website would probably turn up what you need to know.

I think then, it depends on whether you want to pick up from a drop off spot or have it delivered to your door.

I split a share with another family and it gets delivered to my door - pretty nifty! (I also work off half my half a share at the farm too - which is GORGEOUS!)

We've been members of August Earth CSA since they began 2 years ago, and am counting the days till this season begins. They're based in Hutchinson, and have a pick-up spot there, and also deliver to Saint Peter (where we live) and Litchfield. Their website says they're thinking of other sites in the future.

Our family of 4 shares a membership with another couple, and we all love it! We would take a whole share, except we also enjoy growing some of our own veggies in our tiny sunny space.
