Keep your eyes open for the tree cutting services that the County uses. You could even call the county and ask for that department, because sometimes they'll tell you who the contractors are.
Anyway, they have to make trips to get rid of the stuff, which costs them time. Usually they dump it at nurseries, where it's made into hardwood mulch. However, they're always very ready to get rid of it. I know. I have a 60' dead oak tree in my drive, as well as more wood that I'll use in a year -- if my husband ever pulls time out of his ear and splits it.

Anyway. Stop and ask them because they'll probably be thrilled to dump you a load. Keep in mind the contents can be irregular with some big pieces you'll have to just remove.

Is anyone interested in free, chopped to size and loaded for you firewood? I've been getting loads and loads down in Port Tobacco. I'm on my 11th, as a matter of fact. Let me know if anyone is; there's plenty more!
