Yes. Lonicera is notoriously attractive to aphids. Try hosing them off with repeated and regular blasts of water from the hose. Insecticidal soap will also kill 'em, but, although fairly mild, it's still a broad spectrum pesticide and will kill ladybug larva (voracious eaters of aphids) as well, so I'd start with just water before escalating, depending on how bad the infestation is.

THANK YOU!!! I've been blasting them with the hose, it does seem to work, but I need to do it daily. If I knew where to get any ladybugs I would, but I don't need a gallon of them, like I have found on the internet. I'm waiting for my hummingbirds to come back, I've heard that they eat them, as well. I've been on the lookout everywhere I go for a ladybug, even have a little container to put it in!!! Christy :)

If you avoid using broad spectrum pesticides the ladybugs will eventually come and stay of their own accord.

I have lived here almost 4 years, I've never used any pesticides. None of my neighbors do, either. Christy

You might want to look up images of lady bug larva if you don't already know what they look like. I've read that they actually are more effective against aphids than the adults are.

Black aphids are supposed to be the worst kind.

You might want to do some Googling on them.

I'm assuming those are black aphids; they're darker than the ones I usually see.
