Just a note on some things that made it through the winter and are growing now:

Abies pinsapo 'Glauca' (overwintered in a pot - very little burn)

Abies squamata

Cedrus libani ssp. stenocoma (no damage)

Liriodendron tulipifera 'Arnold'

Magnolia ashei

Magnolia virginiana (every bud made it)

Nothofagus antarctica 'Prostrata' (some dieback, but still!...)

Pinus bungeana (winter #3 w/o any burn)

Pinus rigida x taeda

Pinus taeda (a tree from I grew from seed from Little Rock, AR and gave to a friend near Eau Claire - planted in a field last summer with no protection whatsoever and easily saw -25 F this winter - buds look fine and are growing now)

Pinus virginiana 'Wate's Golden' (some burn)

Pinus wallichiana 'Nana'

Salix magnifica (some dieback, but strong growth now)
