your Acer shirasawanum 'Aureum'

As on line pictures of this JM are spectacular I am trying to find a way to incorporate this Acer shirasawanum in our smaller backyard residential garden (zone 5b).

I see conflicting reports on its eventual size. I guess it is my hope that it would remain less than 8 feet in height or grow so slowly that it doesnt matter ;).

What has your experience been regarding this important feature of this particular JM?

And what is your opinion re the amount of shade it can take and still look beautiful as the location I have in mind gets no *direct* sun.
