That is lovely! Is she your first rose to bloom this spring? I think first may be Alexander Mackenzie or Winnipeg Parks. All of my hardy roses have buds that I'm keeping an eye on. How exciting!

It looks like the Queen doesn't have any pictures on HelpMeFind. With blooms like that I'm sure you could get some nice ones to put on there. Do you have any close ups of the blooms? I would love to see it if you do.

Linda, I HOPE there's even one bloom left - you ALL have got to smell it! She is the sweetest rose I've ever smelled. It's still used in the perfume industry to add a special note. It's not a "perfumy" rose, it smells of honey, and sunlight, with a tiny hint of "old rose" but not damask. Gosh, it's hard to explain! That picture, well like my Grandma's irises next to her, the blooms reflect light oddly. It's close... but. Oh someone asked for a pic of the blooms so I'll post a close up too :)

Here's a closer view of the blossom - as I mentioned to ducanoe the petals are highly reflective.

They are pink and white, very very simple, and they only last about a day and a half.

So pretty, is it a climbing rose? (you did a good job explaining the scent by the way..!)

It's habit is more "arching" or kind of like a fountain. It's a very obediant one too - some roses if you prune them ignore you, this one goes where you direct it. I've directed mine a bit upwards as she's getting bigger than anyones descriptions ever explained :) I am NOT complaining mind you, just means I can keep giving out rooted starts so everyone in MN can have an early blooming rose ;)
