fall colors

How are your fall colors in your yards? The generic red Acer palmatum by my front porch is just starting to turn. This was not an expensive cultivar but in the spring and the fall it gets more comments and compliments than any other feature of my yard. My new Orangeola (planted last week) is just starting to show it's potential and I am looking forward to it's display. It is planted close to a Picea pungens 'Pendula' and the color combination promises to be great. My A. shirasawanum 'Autumn Moon' won't be too spectacular this year as it was new this spring and suffered a lot of leaf burn. I am hoping that when it gets more estabished that it won't happen to this degree but our hard water may create a long term problem. My japonicums could be really nice this fall but haven't started changing yet. Nor has my griseum. My new (last spring) mandshuricum arrived with wilted leaves and I lost LOTS of leaves and worried if it would survive. It still has a pretty sparse covering of leaves so no matter what color they are there won't be too much of a display. I want to get a Crimson Spire oak to add color to a narrow strip down along the side of the yard. Fall is my favorite time of year. I would enjoy it much more if I didn't know what comes next.
