Thanks for sharing your photos. Those asparagus look yummy. Bloodroot are among my favorite spring plants. Great to see those pure white blossoms. This year my double blossom bloodroot bloomed and it was gorgeous.

Double blossom bloodroot? Wow - do mind if I ask you from where you acquired such a plant?

Bloodroots were always one of my father's favorite wild natives. His other favorites included Trillium, Dutchmen's Breeches, Jack-in-the-Pulpits, Solomon's Seal, Wild Ginger, and Bellwort. I still have all of them growing around here from his originals.

Native woodland flowers have such a wonderful ephemeral, almost ethereal beauty. I much prefer them over the garish, almost gaudy appearance of modern flower cultivars.

I bought it in 2011 at the MN Arboretum spring sale. It was a bit pricey but so worth it. A perfect peony like white bloom this year. I understand that the double is sterile so will have to wait for it to spread. Though I have little shade in my yard I have found places for some bloodroot, Jack-in-the-pulpit, Solomon's seal and ginger. I don't remember seeing any of these on our SD farm.
