Midwest Landscape Plants is one site that I just love. This is part of the U of Wisconsin and is for zones 3 - 5. On each plant entry, there is a button you can push to hear how the botanical name is pronounced (provided you have a sound card and speakers attached to your computer).

What I need is a plant finder that will help me identify what I already have in the garden. When I got tired of seeing all of thoes little white stakes in my garden I pulled them out because I never used them anyway.

Now that I do want to know what something is I don't know.
