If you don't see signs of blooms, or don't mind sacrificing the chance of it blooming this year (which doesn't sound likely), I say go for it. I never mind much about preferred transplanting times unless the plant is fussy (which then it wouldn't be growing in my gardens) or I really want to wait until after it's bloomed.

Thanks for the support..I think I'll do it. I'm with you on transplanting times. I've heard you're not supposed to move peonies except at certain times but I've moved 'em whenever and they've bloomed fine...

I moved it to day it it seems fine. It took some untangling though. Is there any chance it will bloom this year or am I being greedy?

How 'bout we color you Hopeful...after all, isn't that something all gardeners share (plus the outlet to express the two most basic urges of humans)? :-)

It would be more likely, I think, if it's a later blooming type, but there's no telling with plants. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for you.
