They tend to like a little more sun than older heuchera varieties. They're known in heat (not sun, but heat) to bronze and lighten. That's one of the problems of these highly lauded plants, in my opinion. The purple for which they're purchased doesn't last.

If I could give you a suggestion for a next choice if you're looking for purple? Obsidian is GORGEOUS (expensive) and absolutely worth every penny. 'Blackbird' 'Purple Velvet' 'Purple Veil' and some of the planet series are also well worth the investment.

I have 2 Purple Palace I'm going to dump. I have 3 others that are filling space and not bronzing as quickly, so they'll get a reprieve. I bought them when I was just starting and couldn't bear to see neglected plants at the nursery. Well, they proved to be grateful, but unfortunately, that bronzing thing I don't care for.
