My wife and I recently bought a Pin Oak with a 3" caliper. Before we even finished planting the tree it became the favorite of the neighborhood Japanese Beetles. We sprayed the tree with Sevin and got rid of the beetles.

However, some of the leaves (maybe 10%) are getting brown patches. Closer inspection revealed fuzzy red splotches on some of them (only about 2 or 3 on the leaves that have them.) Its seems as though the splotches kill an area of the leaf and then slide over to a new area (I have a couple of pics but can't seem to post them here).

Do you have any idea what this could be or what course of treatment we should take?
