Metro garden shopping

Well, we went down to the metro area this weekend and had a ball. DDs #1, 4, 5, and 6, who all live down in the general area, were with me, and it was a great girls day out! We started at Savory's, a new one to us, and were very impressed with their hostas, and spent a good sum there! Then it was on to Bachman's. I wish I had seen suzinnia'a post before I left, but we had a wonderful time, getting more hostas, etc., and a lovely lunch in their lunchroom. Then off to Lyndale Garden Supply, and of course, more purchases, ending up at Malmborgs, again making purchases. This morning to Linder's, and again more plants! Poor little Civic was really packed, plus DD#5 potted up a whole slew of perennials and hostas for me to bring home for our local plant sale. All in all, a most wonderful weekend!!

What fun.

Friday dh and I went to Rice Creek Garden and bought Rosa 'Honey Bee' a new one, Rosa "Chuckles', Clematis 'Violet Elizabeth', Clematis 'Asao', Rhododendron 'Landmark', Sedum 'Voodoo, Optunia 'Ymochilia', and Optunia
'Polyacantha'. Both of the Prickly Pears are ones that they have out side year round. If they hadn't been closing soon we would have gotten more.

Their web site says that they are open till 7:00pm on Friday they aren't. We got there at 5:10 and they were closing. Fortunately since we had just driven an hour through rush hour traffic they stayed open for us to do some shopping. Luckily I had a list so was able to get those plus the Optunia.

then Saturaday we went to the house of a woman who is dividing her hostas and we bought several bags of hosta that she didn't know the name of. Yestrerday was planting day.
