Yeah, the seeds are quite the rip-off if you buy from the wrong place. Best deal I have found is Kitazawa seed in California. Fraction of the cost of the stuff Johnnys offers.

We do a micro mix but grow each variety in separate trays and then mix when harvested. I found germination & growth rates were to uneven when the see was mixed. And I was able to mix differently for restaurant accounts with their own requests.

I too do a bunch of different mixes post harvest. I have found one pre-done mix at a super good price, from sproutpeople.org It is called the French Garden Mix. At 14.00 a lb, it is an outstanding deal. Not only is the price terrific but the different species tend to germinate at roughly the same time and it looks good too. In fact, if I had to do only one type of mix, this would be it. I have about 30 different species on hand at most times to mix myself but this French Garden mix is my "go to". Since there are not any of the Brassicas in it, you do not get that unevenness when germination starts. This particular mix is without a doubt the best one you will ever grow. Very delicate looking compared to others.
