Do you have a local hardware store and/or feed store like a southern states? Those are the places I find straw -- which, by the way, has been a little scarce this year.

I did that one year and it worked really well. In hindsight I should have covered the bales with plastic trash bags...it was moldy and gross after sitting in the weather all winter.

There's plenty of straw available out here where I live.
