to battle slugs proper.. your mulch should be pulled back at least 6 to 8 inches.. and your killer placed on bare earth ... no place for them to hide during the day .... its not like they are commuting in from miles away .... they are hiding right there ....

and once you kill the immediate bat-turds... i would then put the LURE!! ... under the plants behind.. and lure them away ....

i never understood the peeps who buy 5 JBeetle traps... and lure every beetle for a half mile .. to their gardens .. [the lure is a sex hormone] .. and then complain.. there are a billion of them.. HEY!!!!! nimrod.. give them as xmas gifts to all the neighbors upwind... let them lure them to their house.. [any while you are at it.. treat your lawn for grubs.. and kill them before they emerge ...]
