I am in the process of figuring out how to update it. My husband set it up for me and now I need to learn to take over from there.

My first thought is to check with any cemetary monument (head stones) places near you - if they have 'extras' from what they cut or they can tell you who supplies them.

Another great stone resource is Lauseng on Hwy 36 east of 694. It's a haul to get out there if you're in Mpls, but they're good guys, and the prices are reasonable. And most importantly, they have a terrific selection. Or, check out Menards -- they have some granite flagstones, nice looking though they may be too thick. Another thought -- if you're looking for flat and smooth, you might call some granite countertop fabricators and ask if they have leftovers or bad pieces that you could buy and break up. good luck--

Put an ad on Graig's List or Freecycle. People putting in granite countertops and such often have pieces left over just lying around.

Now to get myself in gear and check them out. First step check for web sites, second step the telephone. Today is a great day for those two as the kiln is firing and can't be left. First things first though. It feels like a great day to go out to tackle some of those weeds that are trying to take over.
