I used to live in west central Indiana and generally planted my potatoes when the ground was workable and not too wet -- often in mid-late March. If the soil seems right and especially if you're in for some sunny weather, go ahead and get them in! Just make sure the pieces are dry first to help prevent rot. Happy gardening!

Ours are in as the first of this week. Along with 4 cabbage plants, peas, broccoli, kohlrabi, radishes, lettuce. Now we need more rain.....
