Hello fellow Minnesotans -

I am a MN native who recently re-located back to MN from SD and so now I feel comfortable posting in the Minnesota Gardening forum!

I live in the Plymouth area and despite having some heavy rain to contend with in May/June, my garden is coming along nicely.

My question has to do with my pumpkins. I planted one mound of cornfield pumpkins in early June and have four healthy vines with large male flowers. I have noticed at least six of the females (with the pumpkin) have turned yellow and fallen off. My vines are growing fast and new flowers open up almost daily, however, I'm worried I might not get any pumpkins.

For you veterans out there: What stage (size/quantity) should my pumpkins be at if I'm hopeful of having 1-3 pumpkins by mid October? Do I still have some time and need to be patient?

I know we have bees in the garden as my Charantais melons are growing well in similar conditions.
