Too little rain

Am I the only one who thinks we have had a rather dry spring? And when will the rain come again? I don't want to be flooded but I have 10 rosebushes that sulk without rain and I am worried we might have a dry summer!

You're not the only one! I've been astounded that I've had to water in April. Almost all my garden beds have soaker hoses running through them, which makes it easy to water them. But usually I don't have to hook up the hose to water until late June or July.

The lawn is doing pretty good so far, but I guess it will have an early dormancy this year if things keep up. I never water the lawn, I think that's just a waste of water.

No, it's not your imagination. It has been quite dry. Yahoo weather keeps predicting thunderstorms for my zip code (NW Chicago suburbs) and then it is sunny all day. I have ten new miniature roses I just planted in pots outside yesterday, and I ended up watering them today. I just hope we don't get a deluge tonight that will drown them now that they've been watered.

No deluge here this evening. Just enough to annoy and unpleasant to work in the garden, but too little to do any good. It is still dry under the clump of hostas. :-(

Feels like home! LOL

Few May showers in CA. RARE to have rain in the summer. Lucky to get some in September.

I'm used to hand watering all of the time. I'm doing it now too.

I also am in the NW suburbs & I am out in my garden every waking moment! I am praying for rain for 2 reasons, #1. because we really need it & #2 so I can take a day off !!! The soil is very dry.

We've had a dry Spring too. We're supposed to get rain late tonite and Monday and possibly the rest of the week. Just so we get a good rain and not sprinkles. I just hope the weather channel is right this time!

Were they right?

WC said that we were supposed to have thundershowers last night, sporadically today and this afternoon...and not a drop of rain! @@

Now they say tonight. Yeah sure. Bet I'll be turning on the sprinklers in the morning...

YES! It's been dry here for sure. All those storms we were supposed to get today sure happend...

With all these 80's I've been watering alot. Although it seems April was warmer than may so far. I really enjoy the sun we had all last month though!
