I'm not sure if Diana Remembered is an early riser or not, but all the ones here in West Michigan looked horrible this year. I passed up buying one from several places. They all looked like they got bit by frost and then burned by the sun.

I'm wondering if it requires shade? One in Hosta Library looks like slugs got to it.

This one might be a good candidate for growing in a container.

Gesila, it is a very close progeny of planteginea and they are early risers that a spring like we have had, very hot and then very cold, over and over, will really mess them up. But it should be OK next spring. Lets keep our fingers crossed. I don't like this year much.

I picked the plant with the best development and it is just lifting a scape. The others were all in bloom, with huge white and beautiful flowers. Babka, I hope mine will look as good as yours does. Very nice.

Will do. Hopefully I will develop the skills with my camera to be able to post good pics. I see all of your beautiful gardens and am a bit envious. I do fine plantwise but have neither the resources or energy to maintain "picture-book" gardens like many of you have. The great thing about it is that at the end of the day I can still sit any of my scattered lawn chairs and be at peace.

Diane Remembered is a fast grower and a beautiful plant. My daughter has a large plant that is about 4 years old. She hacked out a piece of it this spring - she damaged most of the eyes on the 3" x 6" piece. It sat out for about 10 days in the sun (just the plant, not in a pot) before I planted it, so it was not well treated. Now in mid June, the damaged leaves can still be seen among the new ones but the plant is about 30" wide and a beautiful round mound. I'm not a hostaholic but have quite a few. Diana Remembered is one of my favorites because it's beautiful, yes, but also because it's a fast grower.
