I couldn't stand to see you wait any longer for a reply- although I do not know the best way- I know how I do it-
Nope, not too late on the fall bulbs- Dig em in and water well.
The delph would be better in the ground than out of it through the winter- if it is in a pot- bury the pot- if bare root- plant it and say a little prayer as you water!
It depends on the roses you have- some should be pruned hard- some should be pruned and burried- some should be protected from bunnies and wind burn- and some left to do as they will- like those in my yard!
I too have dug up the tender roots- but have not put them away yet- I also have put a wire fence around some plants that I know the bunnies will love to munch- but I have a long way yet to go!

I will heed all your advice..I think most of my roses are the pruned and buried type..Hybrid teas (I know many here think it's ridiculous to even try to grow these but I buy the bargain ones at gerten's etc so I don't spend more than about $10/each if they don't make it, it isn't quite as sad. My grandma always grew them and I love them so I'll keep growing them.) I can never really predict which questions will go by the wayside and which will be responded to on this forum...and which off topic posts will get dozens of comments but I still usually get lots of good friendly information..So, who knows?
