I pretty much just fly by the seat of my pants! I really should start a journal, tho. Then I wouldn't have to post the same questions year after year! LOL

OH MY GOSH-
I am a HUGE garden list maker- and whats worse- I like to save them- and whats even worse than that- I have to admit- my filing system is random at best! The other day- I ran across a vegi garden plan from 1980- when I lived in the Colorado mountains!
I am getting better though- I am able to use my computer now instead of tons of random bits of paper. I will still draw out beds when planning and building- and I always carry paper with me for notes as it is still easier than the Palm Pilot- plus you can fold paper into envelopes to gather seed when ever you may need to....
I have found a software package that I like very much to organize my seeds- their discriptions and propagating needs and notes and even pictures- and a written "lay of the land" discription of each planting area in my yard- it is called Notebook from Circus Pony. It is a very usefull tool for me.
I keep a spring - summer - fall - winter planner page in there to help me remember when I should have done something to help plan for the next year- like what I want to move come spring- when the sawflies showed up on the mugo last year- that sort of thing-
I find I like to retain some of the knowledge I gather and my memory is ... how did Linda put it last winter when likening my memory with her husband's...oh yes- " a veritable cesspool" (I love that phrase!!) at best - and writing it down helps- but knowing where to find where I wrote it is bliss!
So- Leaves- I would say- if it's worth remembering- write it down- and print out a hard copy!
Now- if I could only remember where those notes were so I could add them to my Notebook....
Oh- and no- I did not toss the CO vegi bed plan circa 1980- I grinned as I slipped it right back into the pile of papers I found it in.....
