We got 4 of these and they are great --we got 2 other composters hubby made and another we got for $5 [a rubermaid] also tumbler we got for free --and hubby even thinks we could use another --not got a huge yard eiether [bit oversized NW chicago burbs size ..........]
But we like to do our bit !!!!!!

Please go on. Why do you like these. I have a huge yard so when I weed, I have huge piles of weeds. Will this item help me.

I am fairly new at composting--and probably extra careful--so I don't put any weed that's gone to seed or sends spreading roots in my composter. I will sometimes put the leaves in there and put the rest in my yard waste bags.

This is not a very big composter--my family of 4 filled up the first one pretty quickly. I think if you have a big yard, you're better off just making a compost pile somewhere. There is a very busy composting board (in another area on GardenWeb) that I have learned a lot from.

i just picked up a soilsaver composter at sam's club for about $33.
this is my second one. the first i bought online for about twice this price.
i have been very satisfied with the first one and am looking forward to filling the new one.

I still only have two soilsavers and try to switch off which one I'm pulling dirt from/putting stuff in. They really are great and after 3 years, I get very good dirt from them. I go through it pretty fast though, as I use the compost to mix in with existing soil whenever I put in new plants. I'm glad to know these are still on the market. They don't seem to bother my neighbors any and I feel like even though I'm pretty close to the big city, I can still be a little environmentally conscious.
