My yard is pretty fenced in, so the deer avoid it. However, sometimes they get in the habit of nibbling on my plants so I go out and spray them (the plants) down with Liquid Fence. I also collect hair from the neighbor's dog, my cat, and myself and stuff it into the plants the deer like to eat the most.

Go get some Milorganite and make panty hose baggies like you'd store onions, maybe a cup or 2 in each one. Hang them around - deer hate it. I just saw this subject on the Lily or Day Lily forum if you want to do a search.

Liquid fence works very well. I've heard Como Zoo sells lion feces in bags (dried) you spread that in your yard and it keeps everything out.
