The maples in my area are always late to drop their leaves. I am often picking up leaves around Thanksgiving. Most are now down due to winds this last week.

Then there are apple leaves which hang on and some oaks which don't drop until much, much later. When I lived in St. Louis, MO I was raking leaves all winter.

Many of them that I noticed are the dreaded Norway maples.
