Gethsemane had it at least last year, though that doesn't help you now. Places to check would include them, Chalet in Wilmette, Planter's Palette in ... Wheaton/Warrenville, Knuppers in Palatine, among others. Also Miners in Milwaukee, which really isn't that far away.

I just called Chalet and learned that they have every hydrangea listed on their website, except for 'Snowflake'. Planter's Palette is one of the nurseries I visit on a regular basis and they don't carry 'Snowflake' this year. (As a matter of fact, I bought 'Snowflake' there last year, but it didn't overwinter. I really would like to try at a protected location.)I even visited a nursery called 'Milaeger's' in Racine, WI in mid July, but I didn't see 'snowflake' though they list it on their catalog. I don't know how many nurseries I have called (and visited) for this particular oakleaf hydrangea during this summer, but none of them had it. I guess I have to wait for next spring. I am not familiar with Miners. I googled and nothing came up.

I hope you're getting emailed responses, because Miner's is a great nursery, especially for inexpensive shrubs. They're in Milwaukee. But, forestfarm.com has it, and I totally recommend them. I've ordered from them for years. What does 'Snowflake' have that you want?

I know Forestfarm has 'Snowflake', but the plants from any mail order companies would be too small to bloom the same year. Since oakleaf hydrangea is a relatively slow grower, I thought it would be better to get a bigger plant. I believe oakleaf hydrangea has the most handsome foliage with outstanding fall colors among all the hydrangeas and 'Snowflake' is different as it is one of a few double blossom types. Now I really wish I should've planted the one I purchased last year in more protected area. I will start looking for 'Snowflake' again next spring. Thanks again for your comment.
