Does it have to be original photos? If you use Google Images to search, you will find tons of images. For example, I put in "Caesar's Brother Siberian Iris" and got 3 pages. Here are some of them:

Well if you want to be legal, most photos are copyrighted. Even posting photos here at Gardenweb from another site without permission is technically a no-no, and it says so in the Gardenweb Terms of Use/Privacy Policy/Policy FAQ for this site too. Rather than copying and posting photos here, it is perfectly legal to post links to that photo. I think it might depend on what Lynn's project is, as to how far you might bend the rules.

Even your own photos you post here are are no longer solely your own. Unlike most other forum sites, once posted here, Ivillage (now Gardenweb's parent company) holds rights to your photos. That's why few people post photos on Gardenweb like they used to, including myself. Gardenweb use to be a much more vibrant site.

I'm just trying to be a good girl and ask for the use of the photos. As Rick said, many are copyrighted, and some folks just get mad if you use them with out permission.

I take many photos during the summer, but these are some that I haven't grown before, haven't gotten the right photo for or just didn't get!

I did consider using google photos, but don't want to cause any problems. Good idea though and thank you!

Yeah, that copyright stuff is so stifling. Imagine wanting to have protection of one's intellectual and artistic endeavors.

Lynn, depending on your project, your use of copyright images might be covered under Fair Use. Check it out!
