New to Gardening

what type of tree is this?

We recently bought a house that has a tree growing in it, it's not been well maintained & I want to properly care for it now. Can anyone help me identify it? It is about 10 ft tall, it has long thin leaves (8-10 inches long by 1 inch wide) it is "droopy and umbrella" like. I've already tried arborday.org, but with no success. Any guidance is much appreciated.

I'm afraid that that isn't much of a description to go by. Is there anyway that you could submit a photograph of the tree? By the way, is this tree in the house (as you said) or in the yard?

Yes, the tree is inside the house. I have posted a photo (tree in home & close up of branch) in the
Garden Galleries -> Name that Plant-> Tree- New to Gardening (is the name of picture..it looks like two photos collaged together). Thanks

It's a ficus. This one is Ficus binnendijkii, commonly called longleaf fig or Alii Fig.
